2024 marked a double milestone for Bottino Corsetteria! It celebrated 90 years since Ms. Bottino founded her bespoke corset and bra boutique, and 40 years since Bruna Sirito, a former corset maker at the house, took the reins. Bruna has carried forward the tradition with a one-of-a-kind bespoke sewing workshop—the only one of its kind in Genoa—while expanding the offerings to include luxury lingerie and swimwear brands. In 2007, Bruna's daughter, Manuela Carena, joined the business, learning the craft from her mother and infusing it with her own marketing expertise. 

Manuela’s innovative approach to promoting the boutique’s renowned expertise and personalized service helped elevate the business to new heights. Key milestones followed, including a store renovation in 2009, an expansion of the historic location in 2015, and the opening of a second boutique in 2019 in one of Genoa’s most prestigious neighborhoods. Bottino has consistently earned recognition at the prestigious Italian Stelle Best Shop Awards and, in 2024, was honored with inclusion in the network of Historic Shops of Genoa. This occasion called for a striking Art Deco-inspired redesign, paying homage to the 1930s—the era that saw the birth of both the store and Ms. Bruna. The vision was brought to life by Manuela, in collaboration with architect Adriana Genro of PiùStore. 

The new design captures the era's timeless glamour, seamlessly blending modern Deco-style furniture with authentic antique pieces. Every detail reflects the distinctive aesthetics of Art Deco: bold color contrasts (peacock blue and teal paired with pale pink and gold), geometric shapes (from spherical light fixtures to intricate wallpaper patterns), and gleaming golden brass accents. A custom counter perfectly completes Adriana's vision, while her thoughtful overhaul of the lighting, featuring track and spotlights, enhances both function and ambiance. The result is a chic, inviting space that not only showcases the store's exceptional products and service but also strengthens its unique identity. Bravo!

We love the Deco fan pattern on the wallpaper, the 1930s mirror, and the feather-trimmed lampshades... a nod to The Great Gatsby!
