During the mandatory shutdown that Anna Bella Fine Lingerie, in Alpharetta, Georgia is facing, store owner Pam Mckinzie has managed to stay realistic, yet positive. She expressed feeling lucky and grateful to “be in an area where we are not experiencing shortages of medical equipment and our strong communities have come together to relieve problems with food shortages and emotional support.”
Mckinzie’s primary concern has been to make sure that her employees have a job to come back to once the shutdown is over. She notes that for Anna Bella, it is important to stay in touch with staff and offer them support when needed. To do so, Mckinzie regularly texts her staff, but finds that zoom calls are fantastic so that they can see each others' faces and share stories.
Also weighing on Mckinzie’s mind is the well-being of her customers. To keep in touch with the later, Anna Bella communicates with them using Mailchimp, offering personal shopping services. McKinzie is also available by phone or email to answer any questions that the customers may have. Despite the tough times, Anna Bella has continued to send out packages to customers, daily, containing their purchases of loungewear, bras, and sexy items that make staying at home a bit more fun!
Time has also been made to network with other lingerie store owners, McKinzie told us that the owners have been sharing good and bad experiences, but that it’s invaluable to have a community that understands the unique industry.

McKinzie has shifted her focus to re-vamping aspects of the business she felt that she previously had no time for during normal operations. She has made improvements to the online store, it now has a much faster load speed and is easier to navigate. She has also set herself to learning more about automated marketing and she is reaching out to international markets where she thinks Anna Bella’s products would be well received. To do so she has used geolocation services on her website and launched unique marketing campaigns! To mark her success? She had a sale in … the middle east!
