Esprit de La Femme Thanks Local Hospital and Female Role Models

"The human spirit within these companies is what we will need in the future to succeed."

In the small tourist town of Nelson, British Columbia, Esprit de la Femme Lingerie has taken action to support its community. Esprit de la Femme Lingerie is part of this community of 10,000 people, as described by Jody Deverney, "Kootenay Lake Hospital is the heart. Babies are born, lives are saved. Our loved ones have passed there. The doctors, nurses, and all of the support staff are not only local heroes, but they are also our friends, family members, and customers."

Deverney and, owner, Cheryl Côté (pictured) are giving back to acknowledge and support the staff at the local hospital who have done so much for the community. Last week, as a token of their appreciation, they delivered three dozen pairs of underwear from Fleur't Intimates and Saxx Underwear.

Then they had another idea, and to put their ideas into action, they partnered with companies and the people behind them that have supported the store over the years. Knowing that their suppliers and brands are more than just a faceless company, they wanted to harness the goodness of people: "The human spirit within these companies is what we will need in the future to succeed."

As such, Esprit de la Femme is working with the people at Montelle, SAXX, and MEY. They have asked their customers and followers to acknowledge a woman who has made a positive impact on someone’s life. This spirit of gratitude extends past the frontline workers and acknowledging a wider range of people, is it someone who has taken over the role of 'teacher'? Donated blood? Is it an entrepreneur making it work?

For the initiative, MEY is donating a shirt and panty to say thank you. Deverney expresses her gratitude back to the brands and idol women: "We say the same thing to the people at MEY, Fleurt, and SAXX, and to all of the deserving women leading by example with grace and integrity."

As a final thought, Côté added: "It's very hard to describe how I feel about the importance of kindness and compassion right now. I'm sure as time passes, the words will come but for now we must remember that even though the world seems like a big place, we will cross paths eventually through friends, family, work or travel..."
