The Lycra Company presents Lycra FiT400

The latest evolution in the company's EcoMade portfolio, Lycra FiT400 is a fiber designed to optimize the performance and comfort of knitted fabrics

Within the EcoMade program, this latest development starts from the two-component Lycra T400 fiber - until now mainly used for denim -, optimized to improve its performance and comfort in knitted fabrics for a wider range of applications.

As well as the Lycra T400 fibre, Lycra FiT400 is composed of two different polyester polymers, which react differently when exposed to heat during the fabric finishing process, causing a helical twist of the fiber which gives elasticity properties and permanent recovery of the form.

The step beyond the Lycra FiT400 fiber lies in the hand, softer and more durable, also optimized in terms of performance for applications in contact with the body, in particular those related to sport (fitness, yoga, running), which require a soft elasticity , combined with breathable properties, a pleasant touch on the skin and high fabric uniformity; the plus of chlorine resistance makes the fiber also suitable for swimwear use.

Made with 60% recycled PET and 14.4% bio-derived resources, the fiber is GRS certified. Controlled tests conducted under specific conditions have also demonstrated that the Lycra FiT400 fiber is compatible with the chemical recycling processes of polyester: in the context of various tests, the fiber components were in fact mixed with standard polyester components and recycled into new polyester fibres, achieving performance comparable to that of standard recycled polyester.
