Founder and President of Unabella, Laurence is a businesswoman at heart, with a degree in marketing and management, and, of course, a true passion for lingerie. While she was living in the USA she discovered American women's love of shapewear, but was disappointed by its lack of glamor. With this in mind, she returned to France to start her own shapewear line with a difference, a shapewear collection able to combine functionality and elegance. Irina, Laurence's business partner and Artistic Director, studied at The Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and the 'Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne', one of the top fashion schools in Europe. She is a designer with creative talent, and significant experience, having worked for both Nina Ricci and Maison Lejaby. To complete their team, Laurence and Irina enlisted Nicole Boés, a pattern maker with over forty yeas of experience in high fashion, to bring their ideas to life. Unabella combines the worlds of lingerie and ready-to-wear to create shapewear for women of all shapes and sizes. Interestingly,
Unabella offers two clothing lines, plus a lingerie range, all with innovative body sculpting properties. 'Atelier' has been created for women-on-the-go who adore fashion, and includes tops, trousers, and dresses featuring high fashion-inspired details such as lace and embroidery. 'Trendy', the brand's other ready-to-wear range, has been designed for more everyday chic and offers tank tops and T-shirts which fit in perfectly with the 'underwear as outwear trend.' The 'Essentiel' lingerie range is aptly named as its corsets, bodies and slips make an essential addition to every woman's wardrobe. Alongside shapewear's traditional colors of white, black and nude, Unabella uses different shades of pink, dark blues and garnet. What's more, the whole collection has been made from Unashape, an exclusive body sculpting material that weighs almost nothing at, 170gr/m2 .  As comfortable as a second skin, Unashape gives women the opportunity to discreetly loose a dress size. Despite its sophisticated appearance created by combinations with traditional materials such as Calais-Caudry lace®, Unashape is no small technical feat as it is quick drying and resistant to both chlorine and ultraviolet, making it perfectly adaptable for sports and swimwear. And the cherry on top? Unabella have also created a line of knitwear, available in cashmere or a cashmere and silk blend to complete the range.
