Wacoal America Names Mitch Kauffman New CEO

On October 1st, 2019, Bob Vitale stepped down as President of Wacoal America, and Mitch Kauffman (pictured)  stepped into the role. Vitale is set to remain CEO of the company until March 2020, when Kauffman will assume the position, allowing for a smooth transition wherein Vitale will be on hand to support and advise Kauffman, avoiding any disruption to the company's activities.

Vitale had led Wacoal America for the last 7 years, and in total has worked with the company for almost 22 years. Vitale had previously announced his retirement in a fond farewell video during this year's The Best of Intima Awards, where he had been a regular attendee for many years. Whilst Vitale was not present, Kauffman attended the awards in his place.

Kauffman, who has been part of the intimates industry for 30 years, expressed his excitement to take on the role, saying 'Wacoal America is an extraordinary company and I am proud to be a part of its heritage and continuing success. In my new role I will strive to sustain and enhance our position as the lingerie company that women trust for fit, quality, comfort, and service.'.
