The Festival des Jeunes Créateurs de Mode de Tunisie (Young Fashion Creators of Tunisia Festival), each year selects young independent stylists and professional fashion schools from the country, giving students the chance to present their work to a public of both national and international industry professionals. Organized by the Groupement Professionnel de la Confection et de l’Habillement GPCH , a member of CONECT (Confédération des Entreprises Citoyennes de Tunisie) alongside L'Agence Tunisienne de la Formation Professionnelle, with the support of the e-commerce site Jumia, the competition is presided over by noted textile industrialist Samir Ben Abdallah, and selects a shortlist of young creators and shines a light on the teaching specialties of the country's professional schools.
The winning stylists receive important promotional opportunities both in Tunisia and abroad on the world stage. The theme for this year's competition, around which participating schools and stylists were asked to develop their collections, was Africa, with the title 'L'Afrique c'est nous'.
The jury of this 4th edition of the festival brought together different fashion experts and trendsetters from both Tunisia and abroad, including the stylists Fatma Hachicha (Tunisia) and Nathalie Garçon (France); sector experts Anastasia Hagui (Russia) and Antonio Franceschini (Italy); and television personalities such as Reem El Benna (Tunisia). Presiding over the jury was Intima Media Group's own president, Marco B. Pisani.
This year's theme, 'L'Afrique c'est nous' brings out, according to the Festival's president Samir Ben Abdallah, the sector's disposition to orient itself primarily around Africa, taking into consideration the great opportunities that this market has to offer.
