The Best ofIntima & Swim Edit
13 August 2024
The months leading up
to the Best of Intima Awards event are always filled with excitement and
anticipation as stores share the good news with customers , following
nomination on the part of the Jury brands. Finally, on August 4th, brands
and boutiques all came together to honor the past year’s hard work and
achievements, revealing the best stores
from the United States and Canada.
With the weather proving unpredictable, this year cocktails were enjoyed inside the panoramic room, its spacious windows framing the enchanting Manhattan skyline. An evening of thunderstorms was expected, but the sky cleared and we were nicely surprised by an enchanting rainbow! With a “touch of pink” dress code, the experience was joyous from the start. The evening was opened by Intima magazine CEO Francesca Spinetta, who welcomed everybody reminding the room of the importance of every singl person in the industry: "This is a human-centric business where individuals are essential and can make all the difference." In a touching speech Francesca remembered two members of the intimate apparel industry who passed in 2024: Victor Lee, Samantha Chang’s business partner; and Norine Richards, VP of Mey North America, as well as saluting all those who were new to the event and those who were moving on. Handing the baton over to Intima’s Audrey Sadleir, who was master of ceremonies, throughout the seated dinner and conferring of the awards, “community” was the buzzword, uniting the room in a celebratory spirit which has manifestly strengthened throughout the years, not only fortifying the bond between brands and stores but also between the boutiques themselves who often paid homage to each other in their speeches.
