The 2017 Best of Intima Award Winners

On August 6th, The Best of Intima magazine held the 13th edition of its annual Gala Awards ceremony, The Best of Intima Awards at New York City's elegant Tribeca 360°. 2017 marks the 60th anniversary of Intima Media Group and to celebrate we honored the most prestigious North American retailers with a unique Champions Edition of the contest, where for the first time past winners could re-enter the competition. This annual gala marks one of the lingerie industry's most awaited and important events. A selection of key industry leaders joined together for a cocktail hour overlooking the iconic Hudson river, followed by an elegant 3-course sit-down dinner accompanied by live jazz music. Our esteemed jury, formed of representatives from twenty of the world's most renowned intimate apparel brands - put forward 300 nominees, including past winners. When the votes were counted, 36 finalists emerged, spanning five categories: Concept, stores with a strong theme reflected in their dècor and unique product offer; European Flair, for a boutique with a continental feel and a strong selection of imported brands; Reference, stores with a large, comprehensive product offer; Personal Touch, for a retail space that reflects the individuality of its owner with a focus on one-to-one customer service; and finally, The Best of Intima's Choice, for those store's that won the hearts of our editorial team.
Francesca Spinetta, Co-owner and Editorial Director of the Intima Magazines, welcomed guests before introducing Zvi Ertel, CEO of Dana-Co, to officially open this year's awards ceremony.

While Blum's was awarded an extra-category prize: The Lifetime Achievement Award, marking the store's 90th anniversary.

To mark the 60th anniversary of Intima Media Group, this year was the very special Champions Edition of The Best of Intima Awards. This meant that the jury could re-nominate past winners of the contest for the first time! Hanky Panky celebrated their 40th anniversary during The Best of Intima Awards gala. Gale Epstein, President / Creative Director and Lida Orzeck, CEO, presented the US brand's Sisterhood Award to The Dain Shoppe. While Saxx's Best Men's Underwear Retailer award was presented to Bra Necessities by Erik Darby, US Sales Director. This year, the prestigious Italian lace manufacturers, the Iluna group sponsored the event.
