Stars 2018 Event Lights Up London

Organized by our British partner magazine, this prestigious retail contest celebrates the crème de la crème of the United Kingdom and Ireland's lingerie, swim, and legwear retailers.

On November 15th, London’s renowned cabaret destination, Café de Paris, served as the spectacular backdrop for the 10th edition of Stars: Underlines Best Shop Awards. Organized annually by our British partner magazine, this prestigious retail competition celebrates the industry’s best stores, shops and e-commerce websites across the UK and Ireland with 20 leading brands nominating finalists for their success.

Sharing the exuberance of the evening were 300 guests from the world of intimate apparel and swimwear for a star-studded event that on this occasion celebrated not only the best retailers, but also 60 remarkable years of Lycra® fibre, who sponsored the event. The 2018 edition also heralded the inaugural collection awards, presenting prizes for the best-selling swimwear, underwear, hosiery/shapewear, sports and nightwear collections.

MEET THE WINNERS

Managing editor Pamela Scott opened the event with welcoming remarks before kicking off the award ceremony by inviting La Belle Boudoir took to the stage to accept its award for Best Newcomer, while The Pantry Underwear won the Concept category and Creaseys was honored as the best Independent Department Store. John Lewis & Partners (pictured left) took home the prize for the best Chain Store / Large Department Store, and in the digital categories, Figleaves.com won as Specialist E-tailer while ASOS claimed the prize for Multi-Sector E-tailer. Legwear Retailer of the Year went to Elphicks. The Personal Touch award was received by See-Saw Lingerie, with Boudoir Pink and Foundations of Nantwich as proud runners-up. Mimi & You took home the award for Boutique Style, while Special Care recognition went to Embrace. Chantilly was presented with the award for Excellence & Outstanding Achievement. The Editor’s Choice award went to Elys of the Morley Group, and Sandra Dee was thrilled to received the Superstar award. Jemma Barnes of Anita UK was presented with the Industry Unsung Hero Award, and Supplier of the Year went to Wacoal Europe.
