Brazilian street artist Ricardo Negro has worked with Havaianas to create flip-flops which bring the fun and colorful spirit of the Brazilian favela to the rest of the world. The favela is Ricardo's biggest source of inspiration but he also draws influence from Cubism and Pop Art, while his alias Ricardo Negro is intended to raise the profile of Brazil's black community. The three prints reflect the daily life of the wonderfully diverse inhabitants of the Complexo de Grajaú, São Paulo, where the artist grew up and continues to live today.
The collection will arrive in store with three different prints inspired by the unique way that Brazilian communities see beauty and happiness. The expressive colors throughout the collection seek to highlight the diversity inside the favela and are inspired by the spirit of Brazilian street art. All of the models in this range carry the signature Havaianas colors alongside drawings of colorful little houses, one of the artist's hallmark designs.
