Maria Grazia – Chicca to most – opened Oissala in 2002, leveraging the expertise and passion for underwear that she gained over years as a representative in the industry. The name, a palindrome of Alassio, and also a clear reference to Italian sea jargon (“oh, issa!”), the name is a declaration of love for the city and to Ligurian tradition. A favorite destination for tourists and vacationers, in the heart of the famous Budello – the shopping street parallel to the famous “Muretto,” the longest outdoor shopping center in Europe – a stone's throw from the Grand Hotel Alassio Resort. Year-round, the shop is frequented by the loyal, vacation-home customers for its specialty in corsetry that combines fashion and fit as well as the seaside styles, inevitable on the Riviera. Always a must in Oissala, ad personam service has sublimated itself in the post-COVID era. Video presentations and WhatsApp consultancy are now available, with shipments throughout Italy. During the lockdown, Chicca cultivated the relationship remotely and, upon reopening, by appointment only, with personalized invitations and private sessions even behind closed doors. This has become a plus for the more demanding customers wanting a more attentive and pampered service to make a relaxed purchase in complete safety. Other small but effective changes to the layout were made, without distorting the Ligurian identity of the boutique. The black and white geometric floor and the original arches amplify the perception of space and the sense of distancing, giving breath and brightness to the setting. 

❤We love the privé with the boudoir dresser, enlarged by opening the workspaces with a display niche and sitting area to view the clothes. The new decor twist? The touches of fuchsia and raspberry in curtains and rugs: a pop of color and positivity, which invites browsing.
