As part of MarediModa's information agenda, on the first day of the fair the meeting 'Process, fabrics and fibre innovations - Focus on bacterial dyeing and 3D design updates' led by Francesca Spinetta, Editorial Director of Intima Media Group, presented the key themes analysed in the latest issue of The Best of Fabrics magazine, focusing on new development scenarios for textiles.
The objective of The Best of Fabrics is to contribute to a debate on sustainability that promotes a culture of shared innovation and cooperation between the players in the supply chain, showing the changes that can be achieved in our specific sector. In the wake of this mission, starting from the results of the annual survey that, through the point of view of manufacturers (50 textile and accessories companies were interviewed this year), monitors the status of the business on R&D and processes, the speech broadened the horizons by presenting, along the editorial line of the magazine, out-of-the-box ideas that have so far been little explored in the sector - such as bacterial dyeing, subtractive design or regenerative fashion. Closing the circle is an updated glossary of responsible yarns, dedicated exclusively to applications in the bodywear, legwear and swimwear segments.
The heart of the discussion was the special insight on the subject of innovation in the dyeing and printing field, with an exclusive in-depth study on bacterial dyeing that The Best of Fabrics proposed as a preview for the underwear and beachwear sector through an interview with the game changer Colorifix. With the aim of focusing on the evolutionary dynamics on specific topics that today impact the processes and workflows of companies in the sector, the conference presented a snapshot, one year after the first focus of The Best of Fabrics, of the state of the art in 3D design, investigated on the basis of one-to-one interviews with experts and key operators, as well as with the underwear and beachwear manufacturers of international reference (MAS Holdings, Aubade, Impetus and Mey - pictured here).
