Medina is therefore synonymous with products designed to celebrate femininity with a "practical" vision, focused on the primary function of swimwear: a swimsuit that stands the test of time and lends itself to multiple uses, seasons, wearing occasions, enhancing the silhouette.
After studying fashion design and materials technology at the European Institute of Design in Milan, Lou took his first steps at Alexander McQueen Homme, then in Phoebe's atelier for Céline under the guidance of stylist Norman René' De Vera.
These experiences have allowed her to develop her tailoring and pattern-making skills and her love of fabrics and craftsmanship, which echo her passion for fashion and sculpture. The mastery of these skills finds concrete expression in her models, with impeccable cuts, which offer freedom of movement while maintaining a sophisticated allure; the choice of bright and deep colors completes a style with a strong personality.
Lover of travel and interactions, Lou travels the world: from Bali to Italy, passing through Los Angeles, he cultivates a sensitivity for the richness of local heritage, for savoi-faire, for timeless aesthetics and for the treasures of land. Then, in 2019, he settled in Porto to dedicate himself entirely to the development of his brand, designed and built as much as possible on site, as close as possible to his factory, powered by solar panels.
Like an architect, Lou takes care to construct his swimsuits inspired by the structure of the suit and mixing different accessories, finishes and details made to measure, by hand, for each of his pieces, to make each swimsuit truly unique.
The result is truly tempting: a versatile wardrobe, with a retro feel, from the beach to the city, with models that mix sleeves and transparencies, sporty cuts and glamorous details with buckles, contrasting collars, laçage in profusion or cut-outs that play with the body (retail price from 140 to 400 euros).
Available in 5 sizes - from 38 to 46 Italian - with the second-skin comfort of anti-UV regenerated nylon fabrics, this timeless collection is designed to free itself from fashion trends and to be used in the long term, offering a new approach to " swimsuit", to also be worn as a "day swimsuit". Lou is committed to fully applying her eco-responsible approach, using labels made from recycled materials and biodegradable packaging.
In parallel with its online store, Medina has entered various department stores, including El Corte Inglés in Serrano and Marbella and Holt Renfrew in Canada, in concept stores such as Dédé in Saint-Tropez, Agora, the chic artisan market of Six Senses and Annie's hotels in Ibiza, Wish Concept Store in New York, without forgetting luxury and responsible Spanish e-shops like Matiz. And we will certainly find Medina in other beautiful shops in the coming months!
