Already owner of an intimates store in Chiavari, in 2015 Rita Chiesa moved her store to a new location. The store is now just a stone’s throw away from the town’s main street and the historic Villa Rocca.

Since 2016, La Guepière has been combining the skill of lingerie expert, Rita, with friend and business partner, Tiziana Pinasco’s professional experience in ready-to-wear. Together they have curated a product offering that integrates lingerie, beachwear, accessories, lounge and leisurewear with exclusive brands. Their store sits on a central but quaint street lined with boutiques that attract locals and tourists alike.

We love this store’s take on retro femininity, built around the Guepière theme. Well complemented by a decor that is both modern and elegant, the space is characterized by arched ceilings (a classic in this area of Italy!), soft tones and wooden furniture, worn-metal finishes and crystals. The whole design concept was inspired by a boudoir-style showpiece lamp, created by an interior designer friend of Rita. The lamp, hanging from a “G-shaped” stand has been crafted from black leather with a unique corseted effect...The boutique’s owner immediately fell in love with this unusual piece and it now sits in pride of place in the store’s window. Rita used this as a source of inspiration to create a space of seduction, right from the store sign and logo, to the large poster of Sophia Loren dressed in Guepière from the film “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.” The poster was specially created by an artist using Indian ink and even inspired a series of charcoal sketches. The concept is evocative but cleverly adapted to create a chic and feminine environment. Inside the store is not only warm and inviting but also modern and open which brings out the best in its seafront setting while remaining closely linked to a distinct boudoir feel.
