IA London, founded in 2017 by designer Ira Iceberg, is one of these.
With a background in Fine Arts and extensive experience as an art director at major companies, Ira Iceberg brings a deeply artistic and thoughtful approach to her brand.
Based in Cambridge, UK, the brand has become a staple of the fashion scene in just a few years, captivating with its structured pieces, vibrant prints, and sculptural forms. Praised at London Fashion Week, IA London quickly found its audience, enchanting with its boldly and precisely tailored dresses, skirts, tops, and suits, straddling the line between fashion and art.
In a subtle play of contrasts, the intense black backgrounds of her pieces highlight colorful images that are alternately vibrant and romantic, with each collection expressing a strong conceptual idea. For the last two seasons, inspired by the Victorian era, Ira skilfully explored the links between a past where clothes concealed layers of underwear and a current era obsessed with transparency and exposure. A nod to underwear, in her "UnderGarment" collection Ira drew inspiration from Victorian undergarments, traditionally hidden, by integrating them onto the surface of contemporary clothing. This approach aims to capture the fleeting beauty of the past in modern pieces. Among the standout items in this collection are the "Underwear" jersey pants, featuring graphic prints on the front and back, evoking Victorian underwear. The pants have a straight cut, an elastic waistband, and an extra-long length, combining comfort with historical aesthetics. The "UnderGarment" collection reflects IA London's commitment to blending art and fashion, reinterpreting historical elements to create unique contemporary garments. So inspiring is this period in British history that Ira continues to explore it in her SS25 and FW25 collections.
IA London's approach goes well beyond visual creativity. Since its founding, the brand has committed to local and sustainable production, a rare value in the fashion industry. Each piece is made exclusively in Great Britain; from the selection of fabrics and printing to the finishing touches, in collaboration with local workshops and factories. Already well-established in Japan and Hong Kong, the brand now envisions expanding to the United States, France, and Italy, where its unique aesthetic and ethical commitment particularly resonate. Ira Iceberg aims to keep IA London faithful to its artistic roots, maintaining a bold and experimental approach. Her ideal platforms for these creations are mid-sized luxury retailers (but not only!), who are enthusiastic about originality and innovation in fashion.
