H.U.G. Announces Honorees of 2019 Gala

The industry's charitable gala will take place in New York City on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, honoring Susan DeMusis and Dora Lau.
The 64th edition of the annual HUG gala will take place this November at the luxurious 230 Fifth Penthouse in New York City. At this year's cabaret-themed event, guests will be joined by the renowned Jazz singer Amanda Jhones and the Pucci Jones quartet to honor outstanding work in the lingerie and swim industry, all whilst raising money for a very important cause. This year, the Project H.U.G. gala has selected two honorees: Susan DeMusis and Dora Lau.
Susan DeMusis, President of Miraclesuit, boasts a long history in both Swim and Intimates, with her experience including work for Soma Intimates, Carole Hochman Design Group, and Victoria's secret. As President of Miraclesuit - a post she took in 2016- Susan has focused on further developing the well-established brand with updated and relevant designs and marketing.
Dora Lau is the foudner of Dora L International, Inc., and has served as its CEO and President for 28 years. As well as producing private label intimates, for which the Dora L team has worked with brands such as Debenhams, La Senza, Agent Provocateur, Oscar de la Renta, and Valentino, Dora launched Curvy Couture to provide for fuller figure customers with her own brand.
The proceeds from
the Project H.U.G. gala go towards crucial work at the Hassenfield
Children's Hospital at NYU Langone and the Pediatric Division of the
Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine. To date, the gala has raised
almost $7 million, making possible initiatives such as

women have been active in charitable work throughout their lives and
now as Project H.U.G. honorees they will be making a significant impact
on the lives of the Hassenfeld and Rusk kids,' said Camille Block,
President of Project H.U.G. ' Sharing their influence and enthusiasm
with colleagues and peers within their industries, I know they will help
make this a great H.U.G. GALA 2019.'
