Georgia Thompson - EVARAE

Georgia Thompson launched Evarae in 2016, with a head swimming with wanderlust and a deep love for sustainability. The influence of her childhood punctuated by seaside holidays is reflected in the sunny aesthetic of the brand, which, to complement its swim and resortwear universe, launched its first activewear pieces last year. It is her strong link to the sea that informed the two pillars on which Georgia founded her luxury brand: eco-ethical production and responsible consumption. Even though Evarae has put sustainability front and center, the brand is constantly seeking to improve and adapt.

For the 2021 season, the entirety of the swim and activewear collections were produced from regenerated materials, all without compromising on quality and finish. The organic silks come from a production line using solar and wind energy; cotton has been replaced entirely with Lyocell, which allows a closed-circuit production and the complete re-use of water, which may otherwise have been wasted. Even the product labels reflect the brand’s sustainability efforts: their seeded paper flowers and grows when planted! Evarae’s seasonless swimsuit models are both functional and timeless, in-keeping with a ‘buy less, buy better’ philosophy. Notable examples include, for example, a swimsuit that becomes a bodysuit, a multi-purpose leotard for wearing in and out of the water, and a bra-top that can be worn just as well with bikini bottoms as with leggings! As for ready-to-wear, this collection ‘reconnects’ us with the elements through ‘green’ materials, light and airy designs, and earthy or blue/green colors. Georgia Thompson tells us that ‘Evarae has re-focussed its sustainability vow by reacting to what’s happening to our planet.’ She continues, ‘I want women to feel their best when they wear EVARAE. That means not only feeling confident about how you look but knowing you have made a considered and conscious purchase. You shouldn't have to choose between feeling good, style and sustainability’. What could be simpler?
