Obtained exclusively through a process of mechanical and non-chemical regeneration of raw materials, the eco-friendly fiber Q-nova has already obtained numerous certifications in sustainability including Global Recycled Standard, and EU Ecolabel. It has also become part of the HIGG INDEX, which assesses the environmental impact of the entire life cycle of a garment developed by the SAC (Sustainable Apparel Coalition).
From today Q-nova also boasts full traceability. Through a special ingredient, which is inserted into the polyamide, the innovative 'ID' traceability system developed by Fulgar allows the authenticity of the yarn's recycled origin to be verified at any time. The ID system allows verification by third-party institutional bodies including consumer associations and ministerial bodies. A further evolution of ID is already being studied, which in a few years, through a special scanner and labelling, will allow consumers to identify the yarn's eco origin at point of sale .
"We are very proud to be able to make a contribution to research in an area that is so important to all of us," says Alan Garosi, Marketing Manager at Fulgar. "Today we often find that there are statements made about the origin of textile yarns that are difficult to verify. Now it will be possible to move from words to deeds by demonstrating, thanks to our ID system, that traceability is a serious matter and requires an assumption of responsibility for the entire supply chain.'
