A popular tourist destination with amongst the longest and most beautiful beaches in northern Spain is home to a boutique offering a profusion of intimate apparel and swimwear in a remarkable setting.
Laredo’s quaint medieval city center is made up of a network of alleys featuring notable mansions from the 16th to 18th centuries and it is here that in 2017 Virginia Garcia decided to open her store, Déjà Vu. Having started out working for a store specializing in corsetry and swimwear, she admits that over a span of 30 years in the intimate apparel field she has witnessed many major changes. After taking a break from the industry for a brief period she decided to return more inspired than ever and with a project of her own: encouraged by her family and previous customers, she opened her 861 sq.ft. store in a 17th century building imbued with charm and history. Customers are playfully greeted by mannequins posing on the outdoor bench sporting the latest fashions. Inside, the boutique features magnificent stone vaults and soft lighting, giving customers the feeling of walking through a mysterious cave.
The addition of modern visual
elements, a white and turquoise counter and a glistening checkered marble floor,
make it all the more unique while respecting the beauty and originality of the
space. Lingerie sets displayed on an aquamarine table look like they are
floating on water, while a wrought iron gate at the end of the store opens onto
a chamber with sexy lingerie playfully surprising shoppers. Virginia loves to treat
her clients by staging events and fashion shows including a popular swimwear
tombola! But what truly satisfies her most is fitting and advising her
customers to ensure each and every one of them leaves completely satisfied.
We love the stone building adorned with a brown wrought-iron plaque revealing the name of the store, and the lotus flower-shaped lamps lighting up the room with a beautiful pearly glow.
