Having followed two distinct professional paths, outside of the fashion system but always mediated by a passion for couture, handicrafts and art, in 2017 Crístofer Pérez and Jonathan Díaz decided to give shape to their fashion project: the creation of a brand which, through its style, would be the expression of an attitude and a distinct way of being: Diazar. The brand’s mission is to endorse natural beauty, taking inspiration from both real life and fictional characters, who perfectly represent those qualities and skills permeating their era. Their strong-mindedness reveals itself through a cutting edge look, bold and audacious. As a social expression of the self, Diazar’s beachwear perfectly meets the expectations of today’s customers, oozing comfort, versatility and particular attention to materials.
For the 2021 collection presented at the latest edition of Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida, the two designers focused on the lifestyle concept of “The new black”, an expression now widely used and hip in many social realms. But their collection plays on the literal interpretation of the idiom, with the entire collection focusing on the color black, which becomes the stylistic key of a new-found simplicity, authenticity and a return to values. A statement strongly linked to the moment we are living in, and which prompts us to distinguish between light and shadow, what is really relevant in our daily actions and aspirations.
“The New Black, by Diazar” collection expresses the concept of a "return to the essential” through its range of deep and dark chromatic shades, playing with seduction and temptation, desire and fascination, toughness and tenderness... Back to basics. Back to black. Welcome to the new black.
