Carvico and Jersey Lomellina's Denim Look

Angelo Figus and Maurizio Brocchetto, two top designers who have signed the SS18 collection, have perfected an innovative technique for Carvico and JL for creating a denim effect more realistic than ever before for both jersey and technical models. Denim is a hot trend right now in both the world of swim and intimates, but this new technique is also interesting as it re-interprets denim, bringing together the search for lived, rich fabrics and the performance and lightness of high quality jersey.

The principal feature is the possibility to obtain particular tonal shades by working on finished articles, using the same treatments used for denim fabrics, even for tonal contrasts, the new technique makes use of and accentuates the performance of the fabric. The "jeans" aspect is acquired through the use of different products containing different amounts of pure indigo, some contain the traditional color while others contain a particularly brilliant indigo, similar to royal blue. The indigo component is bleached, more or less, using traditional oxidants. This gives it a dual-color, vintage effect, appearing sometimes more worn than others thanks to the different nuances and saturation of indigo. Overall the effect has the same characteristics of the treatments used on jeans.
