The Best ofIntima & Swim Edit
Moda's reputation precedes it as the Untied Kingdom's biggest fashion trade show and in 2010 it gave intimates their own special area in the form of Moda Lingerie & Swimwear, which was such a success that in 2016 it became its very own standalone event. However, this summer's edition of the show will not take place as planned. Following the athleisure and activewear trend which has taken the intimate apparel industry by storm, lingerie and swim will now form part of a larger section, Moda Body/Active, hosted at the main Moda expo, the new section has been developed to keep up with the changing demands within the sector. Penny Robinson, formerly in charge of Moda Lingerie & Swim, will head up the new area and says that they want to, "create a concept where lingerie, bodywear, swimwear, and activewear can all be seen in the broader context of fashion and lifestyle" due to the fact that "there are now so few boundaries between the intimate, active and everyday wardrobe."
Moda Body/ Active will share close links with Moda Gent and will feature an expanded range of men's swim and underwear, aimed at both specialist stores and menswear independents. Products from Moda Body/ Active will also appear on the central Moda catwalk. It will take place between 6-8 of August 2017 at the NEC Birmingham.
