Biodegradable Sandals by Reef

The Californian brand revolutionizes the rubber sandals market by bringing more comfort, superior restistance and, most importantly, biodegradability to its Reef Escape collection.

In February 2017, Reef launched its sandals collection called Escape, made from 100% PVC-free material, which uses highly toxic ingredients that migrate into the environment during production, use and disposal. In order to continue its involvement in environmental sustainability through innovation of production, Reef has literally sought to reduce its footprint.

Since January 2018, all sandals of the Reef Escape collection have Eco-One Ehanced biodegradability. While other rubber sandals take hundreds of years to break down, Eco-One will reduce biodegradation time to several years. In partnership with Eco-One by Ecologic, they used an additive that improves the biodegradation process through a series of chemical and biological processes when the sandals are disposed of in an active dump.

En plus de la biodégradabilité, la collection Escape offre le confort nécessaire tout au long de la journée grâce à la voûte plantaire profilée et à la solidité supérieure de la sangle (grâce à des rondelles brevetées qui empêchent les « éruptions »). La collection sera mise à jour avec 2 styles supplémentaires et toutes les nouvelles finitions et couleurs. L'Escape Lux T comprendra une sangle en T avec sangle arrière et l'Escape Lux +, un lit de pied plus large et un profil latéral haut pour encore plus de soutien de la voûte plantaire.
