Another Successful Edition of Blue Lounge

04 October 2019

Dynamic, stylish, and with plenty to offer: this Milan Fashion Week, BLUE Lounge showcased an interesting selection of Beach, Swim and Resortwear, bringing together beachwear professionals both from the specialist circuit, and the world of ready-to-wear.

BLUE Lounge, with the support of Federazione Moda Italia -Confcommercio (Italian Fashion Federation) managed, despite the Fashion Week's change of date and slightly lower footfall at events across the whole city, to attract the attention of many top retailers and buyers. Open for all four days of Milan Fashion Week, it was nevertheless on Saturday and Sunday that the showroom hosted most visitors, and the space was filled with top Italian retailers and industry professionals.

A multibrand showroom outside of the week's trade shows, BLUE Lounge has created a great communication and networking opportunity for all swim, beach and resortwear brands in the city, with a practical location in which brands can be easily found, allowing buyers and industry professionals to make the most of the Fashion Week.

A key theme of this year's event was of course sustainability, a factor that today is becoming ever more important even on a consumer level, where it has an increasing influence over purchasing decisions. BLUE Lounge showcased brands and products that were truly innovative on this front. Amongst many others, these brands included: Kinda 3D Swimwear, with their Rebel Angel swimsuit made from a fabric produced using Econyl, a nylon produced from reconverted industrial fabrics and recycled plastics from fishing nets; Soseaty Collective with the SEAY brand, which advocates an ethical, conscientious beachwear concept that aims to safeguard our beaches and oceans with a new approach uniting resource protection, environmental awareness, and reused materials  with art, fashion and lifestyle; and Rêve de Rive, whose creator's motto is 'I believe in keeping the world beautiful'.  True to this sustainable focus, even the furnishings, provided by BLUE Lounge partner Parasacchi Home, were made from re-purposed industrial spools. Thanks also go to two outstanding partners:
Caffè Ottolina for providing a much-appreciated Italian coffee
Del Monte for providing fresh and refreshing fruit juices
